Grasslands are full of life. The abundant resources of grasslands provide them with food, shelter and a place to reproduce. Rabbits are common animals to live in grasslands. Deer, for example, are frequently found grazing on grasses and they are one of the few mammals that have the ability to digest grass leaves.  You can easily find Red-tailed Hawks sitting in trees or on power lines.  Earthworms are very important grassland invertebrates that maintain soil structure. Many insects are also important decomposers, as are bacteria.

Above you see a picture of a deer.     http://www.kinderpedia.com/images/deer.jpg
